English Spanish Dictionary App Reviews

This dictionary has it all: translations, definitions, many expressions and references , verbs conjugations and audio for tons of words. The use is simple and intuitive.

For me, to have the ability to look up a verb and see the full conjugation is a huge benefit when learning a new language. Definitions are also very helpful. Examples of how the word is used is another plus and extremely helpful. What can I say I love the app. Carl

If you are serious about finding both literal and nuanced definitions of nearly every Spanish word, then look no further. Besides the staggering number of entries and options available to customize the app, I feel the real strength and major selling point is the regular updates and personal responses to questions or complaints is second to none. I could say many more positives about this app, but will end by saying the only minor shortcoming might be the need for an internet connection for the spoken pronunciations. In my opinion this small inconvenience is far outweighed by the enormity of its data -base.

Robust translation dictionary. I love that it also contains definitions, so I dont have to keep switching between different dictionaries. Its intuitive and chock full of information. And I was extremely pleased to find that IPA transcriptions of pronunciations (for multiple dialects!) have been added. I had been wishing for this feature in a dictionary app. Now its an even stronger 5-star rating than before.

Best dictionary Ive purchased (and Ive bought a few :))

This came in really handy when traveling. Loaded it into both my iPod and iPad so I would always have it with me. Solved a lot of communication problems for me. I was hoping it would translate whole sentences (it does some but only if they are common expressions) but it was still really helpful for me as a speaker of Spanglish.

I use this app every day in my reading and Spanish studies. It should be a model for all dictionary apps. Its only drawback is its size on the device, but that is also its strength: its really thorough.

I find it confusing with so much data before definition. Also unsure of how to find conversion from english to Spanish. I do like the the completeness of dictionary and would recommend it.

Offline and apparently rather complete, including example usages, synonyms, antonyms, verb conjugations, and computer voice pronunciation. Very happy.

Gives me exactly what I need from a dictionary app. The only thing that does bug me (and its a minor thing) is that sometimes it provides too much information. There is a customization option to control that. I am very glad that I purchased this app.

This dictionary continues to get better and better. I love the quotations, pronunciations, and the fact there illustrations. Most of the words in the definitions are linked to their own definitions so sometimes you end up on an hours long "word adventure". Great for learning the language. Auto insertion from the clipboard does no longer work like it did in the first version I had. Too bad.

Really useful app for those Spanish idioms, verbs in their conjugated state and just an all around good dictionary. A must have app.

History of download. First i loaded the FREE version. i liked it an purchased the UNABRIDGED one. It DID NOT work. I wrote an angry eview. HOWEVER, and please NOTE this, everybody : when i decided to go back to the previous FREE icon and clicked on it and started working, It was exactly what i expected. So the DEVELOPERs should make it stand out in CAPITAL LETTERS: after installing the UNABRIDGED version, dont touch it and use the FREE version icon. THANK YOU!!!

I purchased it 2 months ago, used it daily while translating English texts, and I had no problems with this application.

This app has been so educational over the past year. Its handy to be able to use without Internet and its breadth of vocabulary is astounding. I used to think that the app size wasnt quite worth it. However, after using this app consistently for 3 to 4 years now I can definitively say that its a valuable educational tool. Not just that, but, its also a joy to use.

I would prefer that this dictionary list the most common meaning of each word first, rather than strictly adhering to part of speech, always beginning with verbs.

I have waited for quite a while before writing a review. This is only the second review I have ever given on any App because this one deserves comment. I have waited because I have seen some good Apps abandoned by their developers after the initial launch, not the case with this one, it keeps getting better. The range of definitions is outstanding and the software very impressive, even allowing for phrasal searches such as "bite the bullet" and "a la larga." To top it off, the customer service is very responsive, customer engaging, and fast, even adding the few definitions not found in their dictionary. Buy this App, you will not be disappointed.
